The 2025 Chevrolet Suburban offers three engine options: a standard 355-hp 5.3L V8 gas engine, an optional 420-hp 6.2L V8 gas engine, and an available 305-hp 3.0L inline-six Duramax turbo-diesel engine. All engines are paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission and are available with rear-wheel or four-wheel drive.
Engine Options
5.3L EcoTec3 V8: This is the standard gasoline engine on most trims, delivering 355 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque.
6.2L EcoTec3 V8: An optional and more powerful gasoline engine, it produces 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque.
3.0L Duramax® Turbo Diesel: The updated turbodiesel engine offers 305 horsepower and 495 lb-ft of torque. It was re-introduced with significant updates for 2025, including a more powerful and reliable design for the engine.
